The Onley Pizza Hut appeared in a July 2026 Washington Post feature by Emily Heil on whether red-roof nostalgia could help the struggling chain. Describing a Saturday afternoon visit, the article noted Tiffany-style lamps overhead, plush green carpeting, a "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign at the host stand and red plastic cups for fountain drinks. A diner from nearby New Church told the reporter the room looked just like the Pizza Hut of her childhood. Retro-architecture writer Rolando Pujol had already listed it among the chain's Classic restaurants by mid-2025. Onley is a small Accomack County town on Virginia's Eastern Shore, and the restaurant sits on Lankford Highway, the U.S. 13 corridor.
