Pizza Hut — Kilmarnock, VA

The Kilmarnock Pizza Hut on North Main Street has a small place in the story of how the chain's Classic restaurants found a following. According to a 2026 New York Times report, roadside-culture writer Rolando Pujol came across a Classic in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, in 2020, went looking for others, and drove seven hours to this one to order what he had eaten as a child: a personal pan pizza and a red plastic cup. In his own guide to the Classic locations, Pujol dates that visit to December 26, 2020, and calls it a belated Christmas present. Kilmarnock is the commercial hub of Virginia's Northern Neck and the largest incorporated town in Lancaster County.
